Evaluations
All associations offering U10, U12, and U14 programs are required to conduct Universal Athlete Assessments (UAA's) testing. For the process to be effective, players MUST attend all evaluation ice times assigned. If a player is unable to attend their designated ice time(s) this may impact their final placement within their division.
For U10 levels, the UAA has four timed drills to assess a U10 player's skating skill in an objective fashion. Details of these tests can be found on the RAB (Ringette Alberta) website. RAB produced a video to demonstrate a variety of skill tests for UAA's (please note: not all skills demonstrated are utilized for UAAs at every level).
The timed drills for U10 are:
- Forward Skating
- Backward Skating
- Start and Stop Test
- Ring Agility Weave
The timed drills for U12 & U14 are:
- Forward Skating
- Backward Skating
- Start and Stop Test
- Ring Agility Weave
- Butterfly
Depending on the size of the division additional gameplay evaluations may occur.
